The mission of Emmanuel Communications is to proclaim the truth and joy of Jesus Christ, in accordance with the Magisterium of the Roman Catholic Church. We strive to be advocates of Christ’s love and a beacon of orthodoxy in the local Diocese and in the wider community of the Church.
Emmanuel Communications was formed in 2008 when a small group of Catholics answered the call to start a Catholic radio station in Worcester, Massachusetts. The group prayed a Divine Mercy Chaplet for discernment before deciding to form Emmanuel Communications and worked tirelessly for three years before its first radio station went on the air. Emmanuel Communications purchased radio station WNEB 1230 AM in January 2011 after being in talks with the previous owners for several months. That same month, Nick Everett was hired as general manager of the radio station. Emmanuel Radio became an EWTN affiliate in February 2011. On May 1, 2011, 1230 AM Emmanuel Radio graced the airwaves of the Worcester area. It was Divine Mercy Sunday and the day Pope John Paul II was beatified. Emmanuel Communications had chosen Blessed John Paul II to be the patron for its first radio station. In August 2012 the board of directros hired television and radio veteran Cindy R. Dorsey to succeed Nick Everett as General Manager and Cindy immediately hired Catholic TV veteran Steve Kaufman to coordinate the production department. Over the next three years Emmanuel Radio grew both in audience size and coverage area, purchasing and launching a second Catholic Radio station, 970 AM WESO in Southbridge, MA in September 2014. Audience coverage expanded to over 360,000 people as listeners and supporters made Emmanuel Radio their "go-to" station to hear Truth for Life. On May 1, 2016 Emmanuel Radio celebrated their Fifth Anniversary as the #1 Catholic radio station in Central Massachusetts.
