Legendary Singer to present FREE concert at St. John’s Church, Worcester, MA Virgil S. Gibson, former lead singer for The Platters, one of the most successful groups of the early Rock and Roll era, will present a FREE concert as a Thank You to Worcester for supporting St. John’s Food for the Poor Program. The event will take place on Sunday, October 23, 2016 at 3 p.m. at St. John’s Church. The Platters are best known for their memory evoking hits, “Only You,” and “The Great Pretender.” There is no admission fee and the church will feature open seating. Donations are welcome.
